Gamescom 2019 Schedule – Everything you have to Know

Gamescom 2019 has arrived. This August 19 will start the leading video game fair in Europe with various conferences ( Nintendo Indie World, Inside Xbox, and Stadia Connect ) and the Opening Night Live, a conference in which news from more than 15 video game companies will be presented. As for the fair itself, its course will be from 20 to 24 and from MeriStation we will bring you all the news first hand from Cologne (Germany). Next, we clarify the conference schedules, the companies that have confirmed their attendance to the fair and, in short, any data that may be useful to point in the calendar and not miss anything these days.

Gamescom 2019

Nintendo Indie World: August 19 at 3:00 p.m. (CEST)

We do not have many more details, beyond the confirmation that during the days of Gamescom attendees can try the following titles: Pokémon Sword and Shield, Daemon x Machina, Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of a Lost Past – Final Edition , Luigi’s Mansion 3, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and The Witcher III Wild Hunt – Complete Edition.

Inside Xbox: August 19 at 5:00 p.m. (CEST)

The next company to appear will be Microsoft with a new edition of its Inside Xbox. It can be followed from 5:00 p.m. ( CEST ) in Spain (4:00 p.m. in the Canary Islands) on the various channels of the company ( including Mixer ) and it is anticipated that we will be able to know details of the first DLC of Metro Exodus and new information about the Blair Witch title being prepared.

On the other hand, the Xbox Game Studios games that can be tested on Gamescom are: Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, Battletoads, Bleeding Edge, Gears 5, Halo: The Master Chief Collection for PC, Minecraft Dungeons and other third titles -party as Borderlands 3, Doom Eternal, NBA 2K20 and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint . In addition, attendees can try for the first time Project xCloud, the new cloud gaming platform for mobile devices.

Stadia Connect at Gamescom: August 19 at 7:00 p.m. (CEST)

One hour before the Opening Night Live begins, a Google presentation will take place at 7:00 p.m. (CEST) in Spain (6:00 p.m. in the Canary Islands) and can be followed from the official channel. Although the company has not offered details about what will be presented, we do know that it will focus on its new streaming platform: Stadia.

Therefore, we can expect new titles to be presented that will arrive shortly on the platform from the moment it is put up for sale next November.

Dates and key companies: opening ceremony (Opening Night Live)

Geoff Keighley, a journalist known for being the producer and creator of The Game Awards, will be the master of ceremonies for the conference that will take place just before the start of this year’s edition of the German fair. For this introduction, news and announcements from more than 15 companies have been promised, many of them large publishers of the industry, among which we find Sony, Xbox Game Studios, Square Enix, Ubisoft, Capcom and Google Stadia among others.

The moment in which we can see this opening ceremony is specifically at 8:00 p.m. (CEST) in Spain ( 7:00 p.m. in the Canary Islands) and the form is through the official Tcom channel of Gamescom, which will broadcast the Opening Night Live when the time comes

The best games, nominated at the Gamescom Awards

A few days ago, the German fair presented its candidates for the “best of the event” in prizes that will be delivered during the aforementioned opening ceremony: the Gamescom Awards. Various games are chosen that will be present in a playable way during the event and have two categories for the public, Best Stand and Most Wanted, which will be presented at the end of the fair.

Among the many nominated titles, we find Concrete Genie with four nominations, in addition to Dreams, Borderlands 3, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Gears 5 and even The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. Who will win the various awards? Now you can start placing your bets.
